Educational Support & Extras

So much of what happens at the South Holland Centre can enhance pupil and student life and experience of the arts.

We welcome enquiries from young people, schools and colleges and can often tailor events, or we can take steps to educationally enrich productions.  In the past year we have joint-programmed Live Shows and Workshops with local teaching staff, hosted a Modern Foreign Language and History film day for a local school, hired space for Schools awards ceremonies and performance showcases, and arranged for groups to talk to professional actors, directors, arts managers and artists.

The Centre can contribute to students gaining their Arts Awards in the following ways.  We are a registered Arts Award Supporter:

Taking Part – please have a look at our JOIN IN pages for lots of ideas of how you can take part in the arts at the Centre.

Meeting the Professionals – Education linked, practical workshops with professional artists are frequently offered alongside performances and many companies are open to arranging specific discussion opportunities with pre-booked groups.

Enjoying and Appreciating  – Live performances and cinema screenings (including arts and foreign language films) are on offer six days a week all year round.  Be in the audience for top quality professional theatre, dance, music and comedy.  Join our Youth Takeover Scheme to make sure you are the first to know about special ticket discounts, promotions and ways of getting involved.  Special rates also usually apply to school group bookings.

Showcasing Work – we regularly showcase school, college and youth performances and are proud to provide a professional base for your events.  Subsidised hire rates are available forSouth Holland based schools and groups, but please apply early as space is always in high demand and is often booked at least a year ahead!
